Have a little fun rating the books you read this year!

If you're anything like me and constantly on the lookout for more BookTok content or a unique way to choose your favorite read of the year, look no further!

I manage to read around 70 books annually. That's a lot to keep track of and picking a favorite can be even more challenging. I can barely recall what I had for breakfast, let alone all the details of the books I've read. And while my 5-star reads tend to stick with me, selecting a single favorite feels impossible—like choosing between a favorite child or pet, it depends on my mood.

For the past two years, I've been using a book bracket system. Each month, I choose my favorite book of the month and document it. Every three months, I pick a favorite for the quarter. After two quarters, I select my favorite for the first half of the year. Finally, I choose my favorite book of the year from the top two. Voila!

If you have a BookTok or Bookstagram account, this method can be a great tool for generating content and book recommendations. It provides at least one day of content each month. Even if you're just an average reader and want to do it for personal reasons, it can be fun to print and cut out the covers of the winners and place them in a reading journal.
